It's said the average human heart pumps over 7,600L of blood in a day. This actually isn't true. The heart only pumps about 5L of blood every day. It just pumps those 5L over and over again all day long. :D

A little self-indulgent, but I couldn’t resist. I’ve always wondered what my heart looks like while it’s pumping along, and imagined what it’d be like if I, and other people, could just look down and see it.
This image wasn’t the best for the gif, and the position and size are terrible, but it’s not too bad for a second try. I’ll do another one if I take another picture from a better angle
Concept: we’re laying on the couch, wrapped up in blankets. Rain falls softly outside. I nestle myself into your chest, and I can hear your steady heartbeat. I tap it into your skin. You sigh contentedly and pull me closer, your arms enveloping me. You gently brush your lips over my forehead as I drift off to sleep. I feel safe here.

What kind of heartbeat/heart-related apps do you use?
There's one I found called Virtual Heart for ios (& iPad), where you can look at a virtual human heart and its components. It's free and I think it's cool.
