For about 15 minutes here, the site went down.
I'm still investigating what happened but for the moment I'm running around making sure that everything still is functioning normally now that the site's back online.

Thank goodness.

The chat server is back online. The issues that prevented it from reviving itself automatically have been resolved.
File storage (and with it the files section) is back online, and the issues that prevented it from reviving itself automatically have been resolved.
As far as I can tell, the site is back in perfect health. If something escaped me, please let me know so I can get it fixed ASAP.

Uh, perfect health except for that chat indicator that is, there aren't 6 people on the chat.
Fixed. For some reason the reboot caused the chat's automated "system users" to show up as real people.

Official word from our hosting provider is not much better than what I already told you guys.
We've had to reboot [heart2heart] as a result of an issue with the physical node that hosts [it]. We will continue to investigate the health of this physical node to determine if this was an isolated or systemic issue.
So the reason I wasn't able to find any cause of our issues was because it happened one level below us. Fortunately they're currently investigating the issue and we shouldn't have anything to worry about going forward.
