That eclipse tho

Any of you guys see it? How was it where you were?

Had a hard time getting any pictures, but I did get to see it at about 91% totality and it was amazing. Can't wait for the next eclipse to hit the US in 2024, definitely gotta go travel to see that one.

Without eclipse glasses over the camera, I just got dramatic lighting and clouds

With eclipse glasses, the focus went all wonky but I did manage to get this pic of the tiniest sliver of sun during the peak of things.

And StormDragon got a pretty cool pic of the shadows going all crazy with the oddly shaped sun, will post that once I find it.

It was spectacular to see here. The drop from gradual darkness to 7pm-ish light was so quick. Temperature dropped from 93 to about mid-80s. Couldn't get a good photo with my phone though.

Re: That eclipse tho

I wasn't in totality so all I would've seen was a partial.

Would've.  There was cloud cover. So I didn't see a damned thing. It got a little bit dim for a while and that was it.

Re: That eclipse tho

Darn, should have mentioned it when it was going on, but apparently there were some sunspots large enough to even be visible from earth if you still had your eclipse glasses on you. There were two of them on the lower right quarter of the sun. I *think* I saw what might have been a sun spot, but what I was looking at was just one dim speck on the lower half of the sun.
