Should we add emoji support?

Long story short, the database we're using doesn't support emoji so they end up as question marks. Recent versions of the database have fixed it, but it's something that needs to be manually changed and it could get a tiny bit messy for a little while afterwards until the site adapts to the changes. Interested?

Also I sort of added poll support while you guys weren't looking. Just make a strawpoll and stuff it inside some poll tags like this:

I would have added native polls and I guess I still could at some point down the road but it's a bigger task than I can take on at the moment.

Assuming all goes well elsewhere in my life, work to make this real will go into effect today. Unfortunately it's such a low level change that I feel I need to put the site into maintenance mode while I'm in there tinkering. Just a heads-up.

EDIT: The other stuff on the to-do list took way too long, aiming for tomorrow night now.

Emoji support tentatively enabled. I think I already smashed every "gotcha" that got me last time I did something like this, but there's a lot of weirdness around our database's non-standard lack of support for emoji. If *anything* appears out of place, please let me know. If you see any errors, please send me a screenshot or copy paste it to me. Thank you.
