So a lot of people seem to like caffeine to boost their heart rate a bit. Do you? Does it work? What does caffeine do for you?
And what I'm kind of curious about is what caffeine does to your parents too. For me caffeine does absolutely nothing. A couple of times I've chugged multiple monster or monster equivalent energy drinks and besides not sleeping as well that night it did nothing to me. Same goes for both of my parents so I'm kinda wondering if it's a genetic kind of deal.

I drink coffee and the occasional energy drink - only to keep me awake at work. I'm on my feet for long periods of time so I have no choice sometimes.
I never go crazy with it though. Never more than two cups of coffee or one energy drink. Trying really hard to get off of the latter (not hard enough evidently).

I try to avoid drinking too much caffeine, because all it does is make my heart beat faster and give me the jitters without making me feel less tired.

I consume caffeine when I need to WAKE THE BEEP UP because I lack motivation, energy, enthusiasm, sociability, etc. I never consume it just to do something to my heart; my fast, loud, strong, thumpy heart is an unfortunate side-effect of the caffeine. Sometimes caffeine makes my heart fast and funky and sometimes it does nothing at all to my heart. Sometimes caffeine wakes me up, sometimes it makes me drowsy, sometimes it makes me jittery, sometimes it makes me sweat, sometimes it makes me thirsty, and sometimes it makes me go to the bathroom. Caffeine can do any number of these things to me, or all of them at once, or do absolutely nothing at all. Coffee anyone?

I used to have a mean tolerance for caffeine some years back. Wake up, down a quart of French-pressed, then go out for a couple of espressos, finish with a few instant coffee frappés before bedtime. Did nothing to me.
Nowadays I have one regular mug a day at most, and not even every day anymore, and while it does make me irritable, jittery and anxious without my old immunity, it doesn't do all that much to my heart. Sure, the rate goes up a little, but the force of the beats not at all.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those rap guys' girlfriends.

Now that you guys say that, it reminds me there was one time. Back in middle school I was diagnosed with ADHD and had some pills for it, eventually stopped taking them. But for this one test I decided I was going to take one of them to help me focus. In case you don't know, ADHD is treated with stimulants just like caffeine, actually for a while instead of taking pills I tried downing a tall glass of mountain dew every morning. That wasn't fun.
Anyway, something about my brain chemistry had changed since the last time I had taken them because instead of going from ADHD -> normal, I skipped right over that and went all the way over to that awful jittery feeling like you're hearts going to explode. Can't remember anymore what it was I was taking back then but I guess I'm not "immune" to stimulants like that, it just takes a special kick in the pants to have an effect.

I try to limit my caffeine intake. I used to drink in the neighborhood of 40oz of coffee a day. I started to get real bad headaches, so I cut back to no more than 20oz.
I never got jittery or anything. Just bad headaches. I'm sure it had an effect on my heart, but it had to have been minor.

Moutian Dew is all I need. But I try not to drink too much over long periods of time due to caffeine hightening my anxitey.

i used to drink Pepsi all the time and be able to fall asleep at night, i quit drinking it for about 1 1/2 years and have one every once in a while now and it keeps me awake anytime i have anything with caffiene in it, so i do my best to stay away from it. Since i quit drinking soda, i have lost weight and have kept it off.

I mostly drink energy drinks now and then because they're super tasty and there really aren't any sodas like them. But there's stuff like Propel and Powerade that's also pretty good stuff, might end up switching completely to that if it'd help me lose a little weight. After all it's not like the energy part of those energy drinks is doing anything for me.

I am always drinking coffee (starbucks of course) and energy drinks
Sometimes it does affect me. I'm just being careful not to ingest coffee during really late hours

Back in like middle school I stopped taking my ADHD meds, one day for a test I thought it'd be a good idea to hop back on them and while caffeine didn't and still doesn't have much of an effect, that little pill made my heart feel like it was gonna explode. Was before I really noticed hearts but even then I was so distracted by the feeling of an imminent heart attack that I couldn't focus on the test anyway lol. Feels like I should have learned a lesson about meeting my destiny trying to avoid it or something.
