Okay so like on HBP they have the whole thing they do where mod activity (or I guess just bans) is listed out, do you guys want me to do the same thing for transparency reasons or do you want me to keep that close to my chest for privacy reasons?

Personally, I vote for announcing bans, but then again, I'm a rubbernecker and drama addict so take that with a mountainous pile of salt.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those rap guys' girlfriends.

I don't think you need to provide an exhaustive list of all mod activity, but it would be a good thing to have a banned users thread in the site news section.

I've asked a few friends and they generally seem to want to know about bans. If there aren't any voices at all against this soon I'll go ahead and do it, but if there are you should probably speak up and help shape the site the way you want to see it.

My vote is: total indifference. Just throwing it out there.

The following policies could be used.
1) no discussion on reasons for bans period. just a note of who's banned. this is actually a very common policy on forums.
2) list banned members along with the reasion. this it what hbp does.
3) same as 2 but lay bare the behavior of the banee for all to see.
May i suggest a poll? all will cause drama. just that 1 and 2 cause different types of drama.

I would say just ban some people who are harassing other users, including me.

I agree that the bans should be posted with the name and reason for being banned. We should all have the right to know and remember who the harassers or wrong doers are so we can at least avoid them for security reasons, it is to protect each other. They can always come back with a different name etc, but some of them are so dumb that they can be easily recognized.

I completely agree with you Anthony.

Couldn't have put it better myself
Mind you, everyone deserves the opportunity to change their ways. You only get that once though...

Friendly reminder that if someone doesn't change their ways even when given a completely fresh start here they probably aren't going to and should probably be dealt with sooner rather than later.
Friendly reminder that I am not all-seeing and if something does happen the report button or the PM button on my profile is your friend.
