I see a lot of people talking about their favorite spot on the heart to listen. Maybe I just don't have the ear for it or I just don't know what I'm listening for but I can't hear very much of a difference. What do all the different locations sound like compared to the others?

Tumblr's thoughts on the matter:
I could be wrong here but I'm 90% sure mitral tends to be deeper than the rest.
Mitral and tricuspid tend to be louder and more thuddy. Aortic and pulmonic are softer and more clicky. Depends on the person too.

Just an opinion and please take it at that, but I find aortic and pulmonic to be as others say -- somewhat clicky and lower in volume. When you move to erbs, you get the whole heart sound that is a better sound and usually loud and clear. Moving down to tricuspid is similar and just as good. Mitral has a different sound that is more thumpy, but depends on the person and whether he/she is vertical or horizontal.
