When you want the doc to steth but they dont

I have some $$ from 2016 on my flex spending account that needs to be used up by Friday or I lose it. I decided to visit one of those in store clinics to get some bloodwork done. Vitals are done as part of the workup. When it was BP time i told her how I have bad white coat hypertension and she may want to leave the cuff on and take it again in a few min. Of course, it was perfect this one time (120/60) so she said that wasnt necessary. DRAT! I was hoping she could take it again.

So she does the finger stick and it takes abt 5 min for the machine to finish. I wanted so bad to figure out a way for her to use that cardiology steth on me during that time but I couldnt come up with a good reason.

What would you have said? So I know for next time. It has been years since I was stethed by a health professional and I really wanted her to do it today!

I thought about asking her how adept she felt with murmurs to see if mine has gotten louder during pregnancy. But the words wouldnt come out!

Any time I've ever brought up my palpitations with a doctor, it's led to being stethed. :P So next time, maybe make a comment about your heart feeling fluttery or skippy at times. That might prompt a listen!

That works too. Except the one time I wanted palpations to happen, they didn't. I scheduled a doctor's appointment for that very purpose and they stopped hours before the appointment. Regards, the doctor had a through listen.

Re: When you want the doc to steth but they dont

I usually get stethed when I go to the Dr. I really enjoy it but if I see one of the female Dr's my heart starts thumping, nice for me, as I get a really through Stething, very nice, but it usually means I get sent for an ecg
. I don't mind that but they'll never give a copy of the traces. How I get them to let me see the results I don't know. Anyone got an idea how to get /  ask for a copy? ie an excuse for having one '

The last time I needed an EKG I asked for a copy for personal records and they gave me one without hesitation.

Yes, I have a friend in the USA, she always gets a copy of her ecg. It's great to see how her heart beats.
But here in the UK the health service is state run and they won't give anything away

I could go private but that would a fortune
Don't suppose anyone on here and in the UK could run an ecg. I'd happily travel for a recording
