Do you remember the first time you used one? It kind of freaked me out a little bit, since I used it on myself. It was a little surreal hearing my own heartbeat for the first time, but honestly I don't know what I expected, it's a heart. I remember I just zoned out for what felt like ages but what was more like a few seconds

It was a really long time ago, maybe I was 7 or 8? But I was at my grandparent's place for a bit and since my grandma's an ex-nurse (although I guess at the time she was still a nurse that just did house calls) she had a stethoscope or two lying around and a tiny me sat upstairs on the bunk bed just listening to his own heartbeat for a few minutes.

I've never actually used one. It's on my to-do list.

When I was 5 or 6 I think. Found a steth in the house and started using it when my parents weren't around.

My first time was when I was 6 or 7, my folks took me to a family friend's place for a visit. The friend who was around my age wasn't home, so his dad let me play games on the PC in his room while the grown-ups were talking in the living room down the hall. That same friend had earlier shown me his stethoscope he got from his mom, who was a nurse, and I remembered where he kept it. So I pretty much ignored the games and played with the steth instead, and used every minute of the ample alone time.
After that, I realized that the stethoscope sewn into the blood pressure cuff we had at home was still usable if I turned the cuff inside out. Good times were had.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those rap guys' girlfriends.

my first time using a steth was in 3rd grade during gym
My first time using one was in 2nd grade, health class. I don't remember very much about the experience, just being super excited and my fiend Katie thinking I was incredibly weird for being so excited.

Same with me but it was a science lesson and we were given bags with random experiments to try and of course I had to get the one with the stethoscope in it

My first time was in Kindergarten. We did a short lesson about the heart (I mean, obviously nothing super detailed, mostly just "This is the heart, you have one, it makes this cool sound", lol). At the end of the day, they brought in a couple of stethoscopes and they had everyone in the class line up to listen to their own heart. I thought it was awesome!

In my young days, about a hundred years ago, only doctors had stethoscopes. I hated being listened to, and the chance of using one was nil. No internet in those days. Then at university in my second term, age 18, I found myself sharing a room with a medical student. He just reached the stage of acquiring a stethoscpe, but I wasn't going to show any interest in case he wanted to use it on me. Then one Saturday, he went out, saying he'd be gone a good while and leaving his stethoscope on the mantel piece. I made sure none of the other students in the house was around, grabbed the wonderful instrument, locked myself in the bathroom (Engish, not American!) and listened to my heart. That opened the floodgates and I knew that by hook or by crook, I must have one. That's a story for another time. The stethoscope was returned, and my room mate suspected nothing!

We were staying at a relatives house and I just had to try a stethoscope my brothers found in the junk at their place upon my female cousins. Nothing I could think of got any real results at all. The one I had at home made from bits I found worked better.

I had some opportunities to use steths back when I was in school, but everyone was always too noisy, so I didn't get to hear anything. The first time I could use one and actually hear something was just with a toy stethoscope.
