How did you feel when you first found out that other people also loved hearts?

In my case, I learned that cardiophiles existed online a few years ago (although I didn't know of the word 'cardiophile' back then). I felt relieved when I read about others' feelings and experiences of hearts/heartbeats. It was reassuring to know that I wasn't alone in my intense interest in the human heart, and also felt less like a weirdo. I read the online blog "Something Like a Heart" years ago, which contributed to helping me accept how I felt about the heart.

It's true that someone can't just be "turned into a cardiophile." That said, hearts can be fascinating and worth learning about (e.g. to keep healthy and fit).

For more ideas, finding a human anatomy textbook and reading about the cardiovascular system can be fun, but that's because biology is one of my favourite things. So you could get one from a library, bookshop, etc. There is a lot of mythology, culture and history about the human heart so you can find those in books too. There's also a thread I made about hearts in other media. Or if you wanted, you could start an exercise routine with them, like jogging.

There's no guarantee these people would become as interested in hearts as we are, so it's up to them whether they'll look further into them or not.

it's impossible. you'd have to get them to discover it. they're not going to develop a fetish.

After watching the whole thing I'm a bit skeptical about bits of it myself. Like apparently they left the dog dead there for 10 minutes before attempting to revive it, I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure 10 minutes of oxygen deprivation to the brain would cause some permanent damage, but the dog in the video apparently lived on for years just fine.

I meant like, I've been telling them random things like holding breath speeds up the heart, what tachycardia is, how CPR works, etc.One of them didn't even know that you could feel your heartbeat by pressing a hand to the chest.

They seem pretty interested in these things, but i'm kinda running out.

If I wanna turn someone into an Otaku, I'll tell them to try watching a few "Beginner's anime". Introducing someone to Chess, I'll tell them the rules and show them a few cool games. How do i turn someone into a cardiophile? :D

That looks almost floral.

There is a heart condition called broken heart syndrome (aka Takotsubo cardiomyopathy), which temporarily weakens the heart muscle and can be triggered by emotional/physical stress.

Those were some gruesome experiments. I was a bit sceptical about the "dog heads" part but yeah, there are ways to keep a heart beating outside a body. In research, there's something called the Langendorff heart technique, which enabled researchers to experiment on the heart without the animal.

My heart has been thumping hard for the last few hours, and I’ve felt every beat kicking against my chest.

I tried a quick push at 6:30

Thanks for listening, feel free to comment :)

I’ve never named my heart but I did have someone give my heart a name based on what the English version of what heart means in my native tongue. That was kinda cool but I don’t really refer to my heart to that name really anymore. I honestly never quite understood the referring your heart to a pronoun appeal. My heart is an extension of me so I used it in the singular tense.

I once had a play patient/steth buddy whose heart was very sensitive to energy drinks.  If she guzzled a Red Bull before her appointment (which she always did), she'd be doing PVCs like crazy.  We named her heart Miss Skippy because of all the PVCs.

Usually my heart is just "my heart," although rarely I do use "he" when referring to it. No particular reason why except for fun I guess. But 99% of the time, it's just "my heart."
