Medical instructional videos on youtube teach us that bell + very light pressure allows to hear low frequencies better, for instance to discern S4, while diaphragm + more pressure accentuates high frequencies, which is usually better for murmurs and MVP click.

Yoooo this is really cool! I love EAP and this is just genius!

Hey I’m Lucian. You can call me Luc for short. Uhhhh I used to be in the community. I won’t be revealing my precious identity. I go by he/him pronouns now. Didn’t used to. I’m 27, single, and uhhh open to people of any gender but like don’t be a creep I guess lol I’d like to make friends so shoot me a message

I don’t count doctor steths cuz it makes me feel weird. So it’s been way too long tbh

@hiyasynthgirl yes. I have systolic murmur. I have mild mirtal valve and mild tricuspid valve regurgitation.

Happy Halloween! Here’s a video of me reading “A Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allen Poe. I use my heartbeat in some parts of it. I hope that you’ll enjoy it.

Interesting to hear both. I've never heard both at the same time before. The valves sounds very active thanks to the Doppler and I could hear the chambers filling with so much blood. Ty so much for sharing such a unique file😊

What a beautifully written comment. I was thinking the exact same. The sound it makes when her heart fully fills with blood and even while it spits it out is just absolutely beyond words. Its such a simple action but provides the most important and gorgeous sound ever.

beautiful slow heartbeat afterworkout

Hmm let's see mine was this last August as part of my company's annual physical exam.
I was pretty nervous being stethed. I hope the doctor didn't mind my heart's thumpiness.

If anything, I use the "cut" tool built into EZ Voice Recorder. That or I just record straight into Telegram for my boyfriend.
My recording apparatus is the microphone from a pair of cheap earbuds and a small cup-shaped object. Previously, the cup was a condiment cup from Subway. Currently, it's a mini version of a vintage Tupperware bowl, on a keychain.

I guess I never reintroduced myself here.. I'm hpb14! Some of y'all may know me by other names but I've been in the community for a looong while. Joined officially back in 2011 and have been in ever since. Currently working as a software engi after graduating from uni a little over a year ago. I've taken breaks here and there. Hence the "new" account here. Going to try my best to be more active here especially. I also tend to lurk and help out in a few community Discord servers. Fairly open about myself and easy going. Feel free to say "hi". I'm always down to talk tech, science and the whole cardio interest! Nice to meet everyone again!

I'm pretty hyper aware of my heartbeat as well, almost all of the time. Kinda hard to ignore at points? I can still suppress it unless I'm stressed. Then there is no way I can hide it from myself. It can even become more intense when something has me anxious. I guess that could be a reason why I'm so obsessed with cardiophilia. It doesn't drive me crazy as I've mostly come to live with it. Definitely can aggravate my anxiety as I can't ignore the rate and force of my pulse. As a result it has been responsible for a few feedback loops of fear during a few panic attacks.

In a way I can feel each phase of the beat I guess? It doesn't take a lot of focus from me to tune into it. Often simply just able to automatically feel it without even thinking about my heart, kinda like background noise for me. The *tha-thump* of each beat I can usually feel behind my ribs as well as the pulses in my neck at times. Always aware of rate changes and irregularities as the palpitations and fluttery feelings I get when they happen are very strong.

I really appreciate this reply, hopefully I can hear more of the clam beats that make the heart so enjoyable to me.

@Playonic_Steths Hey not a problem! I'm not sure what would help but I suppose mindfulness and better awareness of your own body could help. Sort of acclimate your mind to things its been ignoring for the most part. Exposing it to those things by listening to or feeling your own pulse. More frequent exposure may do the trick for this? I am no psych what so ever haha. Best of luck on finding a way!

My partner likes to earsteth me almost every day if not a few times a week. I was recently at the docs this week however. Usually very calm and used to being at the doc's office. I go multiple times a year at this point. This time they had a learning nurse present for the exam. They did a brief stething exam during the checkup and I suddenly got anxious with two people stething me in the office.
